Ella - Nine Arch Bridge
The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is one of the most iconic sights in Sri Lanka. Also known as the Bridge in the Sky, it is a viaduct bridge that is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country.
Ideally located between Ella and Demodara stations, the bridge was commissioned in 1921. It is built entirely of brick, rock and cement without a single piece of steel. The surrounding area offers spectacular views of the jungle and tea plantations.
